The dolls I create are made from heart. For I strongly believe that children can feel the love that we feel when creating the doll.

My name is Sarah and I am a dollmaker. Many years ago I went to Steiner school in Germany, now I live with my husband and three children in Melbourne. I’ve always loved creating, when I was young I would sew and craft for my dolls and stiffed animals. As a teenager I created clothes for myself. Instead of following my passion many years ago, I studied and worked as a project manager for almost a decade. The people aspect, as well as planning was most rewarding for me. Running workshops with fun and engaging activities to bond teams together and reflect or prepare for the weeks ahead was something I was well known for.

With my first daughter I started sewing again. I sew her first doll and almost every doll ever since. Fast forward five years and I am sewing almost every night once my children are sleeping. I’m also giving dollmaking workshops. Sewing together with other likeminded women creates a special feeling of connection and can be like therapy!

“Your calm, patience and loving creative engery was so delightful to be aroud and I felt so blessed to learn something so special. I feel extremly excited to gift my doll to M and very proud to have made it for her.”
